Lou Krieger Poker Books
Lou Krieger, author of 11 poker books and former columnist for Card Player Magazine, passed away on Monday after a long bout with cancer of the esophagus.
Krieger contributed to Card Player Magazine between 2001 and 2005 and is best known for penning Poker For Dummies, as well as Secrets The Pros Won’t Tell You About Winning Hold’em Poker, Hold’em Excellence and Winning Omaha/8 Poker.
A post on his facebook page confirmed the sad news.
“It is my deepest regret to inform you that early this morning Lou’s fight against cancer ended. He fought courageously to the end with the same pride and dignity that carried him through his life. He wanted everyone to know that he did not go peacefully in his sleep but fighting like hell. He was surrounded by his family. We know he would want everyone to keep floppin’ aces. He will be missed by all that knew him. Poker has lost a star.”
Most recently, Krieger co-hosted Keep Flopping Aces with Shari Geller, a podcast that appeared every Thursday on Hold’em Radio. The site will be hosting a tribute broadcast to Krieger on Thursday night at 6 p.m. PST.
