Dimm Slots 1 And 2 Not Working One

Hi, I got this new mobo and 2 sticks of ram wont work in the first two slots. The ram is brand new from OCZ. I have 8gb of the same type of ram, and only the last two slots seem to work. When I put all 4 in or just first 2 the computer wont show a picture. I know 8gb prob is to much for just cod/mmo, but its brand new and it doesnt work.
Is there a program that I can use to test the slots? Or maybe Im doing something wrong?

There are 4 DIMM slots. As per Lenovo's user manual, I should populate them in the order 2-4-1-3. 2 and 4 are blue. 1 and 3 are green. But I am getting 3 long beeps and 1 short beep when I follow this with 2 8GB DDR4 RAMs. RAM modules are fine as when they are individually installed, the PC will boot up without any errors.

  1. Re: DIMM SLOT NOT WORKING Its possible to get ram that is different vendors and therefore doesnt work. Especially older systems you need LOW DENSITY RAM or its not going to work. Matched Sets for systems using INTEL 440BX chipset are often required for stable operation.
  2. Usually you’d use #1 and #3 or #2 and #4 DIMM Slots for 2 stick configurations, so if this is the case that may be why. I know they’re color coded but I don’t see why else it wouldn’t be working. If it’s a 2 stick config try using slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. If it’s a 4 stick config place them in every slot then try to boot.
